Turbans usually have approximately 5-7 very large fat cloves that form a circle around a center that may or may not have a scape. Turban bulb wrappers are usually very colorful with lots of purple splotches and stripes. Some are white but vividly striped with red/purple vertical lines. Turbans have a larger umbel that resembles a turban and usually have a beak that is 6 to 9 inches or so and have the second-longest beaks of all. They have approximately 30 to 100 small rice-size bulbils.
